Sh*@ Happens - Literally
Here is a good laugh for all you moms out there. As you all know I am in the process of potty training Kinlee. She knows how to get on and off by herself (at our house) and even knows how to wipe after she goes pee... However, there are bound to be accidents sometimes. Today as we were getting ready to take a bath, she was naked, and apparently had to go poop right as I left the room to go get a towel. I came in and there was the biggest surprise waiting for me. Not on the toilet, on the floor next to the toilet. To funny to get mad, so I just cleaned it up and told her she needs to go on the potty next time. P.S. I put Kinlee on the toilet "before" I took these pics, in case she had to poop anymore.

One "HUGE" family...
We had the "McDermaid" Christmas party last night at Derks grandmas house. The McDermaid family is HUGE, and every year it seems like more and more are added. Wherever I go, I swear, someone knows a member of the McDermaid family. It has been so much fun for me to watch all the kids grow up. It's fun to be part of a big family. Last night Santa came, and the kids were singing songs and opening presents. I got teary eyed several times just seeing how much fun they were having (I was trying not to let anyone see)... Anyways, hope everyone has a good Christmas. Enjoy our cute family and the slideshow.

Out to save a buck...
If you know me well, then you would know I am ALWAYS out to get a good deal and save a buck or two. I looked all over a few months ago for snow bibs (overalls ) for Kinlee, and ended up getting these cute pink ones at Savers for like 4 dollars. Lucky for me, her coat from last winter still fits her (it was way big last year). Some people probably think I am cheap, but I don't care. I love to shop at places like Ross, and TJ Max and yes sometimes Savers. They have cute things and they are cheap. I rarely shop at the mall, because you would not find me spending more than 20 on a pair of jeans or like 10 on a shirt. I do however, splurge when it comes to furniture and nice things for my home. I know you get what you pay for, so there are some things I do spend good money on :) Anyways, enough about my cheapness... I busted out the snowblower Saturday when Derk was working and was so excited for Kinlee to get her snowsuit and boots on and go out and play in the snow. Kinlee had more fun eating it than playing with it. I can't wait to take her sledding this winter.

Christmas Lights and Boo Boo Chickens
Life is so rough :(
One of the few times Kinlee was NOT being a Boo Boo
(not the best pic of Kinlee and Derk :)-
Last Sunday night we went Downtown to see the lights for part of Derks birthday celebration. We brought Kinlee's stroller (knowing that more than likely she would NOT want to sit in it). Sure enough, she screamed to get out (see first pic). We let her out so she could walk around, but instead we ended up chasing her all over the place. She is one wild woman. We ended up leaving early because Kinlee was being a Boo Boo Chicken. (Derks parents and Derks brothers family stayed). Hopefully next year will be more eventful.

"Egghead" - a.k.a. Sheldon
When I was younger I used to watch Garfield. There was an egg on there named Sheldon, which just so happens to be my little brothers name as well. It has been a nickname that I have teased him with for years. My brother took these pics of us today and did an AMAZING job. We have not had real family pics done since last December. Bonus! It was free since my brother did them. He has a way nice camera with a killer lens. He is always looking to "practice" so if you know anyone that needs some pics, he might have some time extra time on his hands:) Thanks EGGHEAD and aunt "Magin". haha

Happy Birthday Derk!
One of the most precious gifts from heaven above, is the gift of a daughter, for a Daddy to love. I've been blessed to have a Daddy like you. You're my pal, my buddy, and my best friend too.
Love, Kinlee
To my better half,
Happy birthday Derk. Thanks for working so hard to take such good care of our family. You really are my better half. Kinlee absolutely adores you, and I can see why. You were raised to be such a loving and kind person, and now it has carried on to your own family. We love spending every chance we get doing fun things with you dad. Hope your birthday is a good one. Love you lots.

Santa Baby...
We went to Fashion Place Mall tonight to see Santa. I knew poor little Kinlee was going to be terrified of him. Last year was no different. Luckily at Fashion Place they let you take up to 2 pics of your own, because there was no way I was going to pay 20.00 for pics like these. Check out Santa's eyes... He looks like he has either been kicked in the head by a reindeer, or had one to many eggnogs.
"A true lady is one who never shows her underwear unintentionally...”
For the past 5 months (roughly) we have been dabbling in potty training with Kinlee. They say (or so I have heard) that girls are easier than boys, and we figured there was nothing wrong with introducing the potty to her at an early age. We skipped the whole potty chair, and went right to the "big girl potty" and we just put a little potty seat on our big toilet. These past few months we have not really been pushing the issue, and we just occasionally put her on the toilet when we have the time... Well the other day (Monday) Kinlee woke up and opened her dresser drawer and wanted to wear her underwear. I put them on her and told her if she needed to go potty that she had to tell me so I could put her on the potty. Long story short, she pooped in her underwear and then waddled over to me asking me to "change my pooter palace" (a little funny nickame we made up). So Tuesday I figured back to diapers... Then again yesterday she insisted on wearing her underwear so I put them on her again. Not one accident ALL day long. I put her in her diaper for her nap (she woke up dry) and then again last night we put the diaper on her and she woke up dry. Today is day number 2 and we are still doing great. I know there is going to be more accidents I am sure of that, so for now we are carrying a spare set of undies and pants around just in case. I decided Kinlee is never going to be potty trained if I don't make it a consistent thing that she goes potty like a big girl. She is my little smarty pants girl, and I have a feeling in a few more months we will be DONE with diapers! Good job Kinlee:) We love you.
