Where milk comes from...

I thought this was funny, not so sure Derk did... However, it's true right?

Mommy Kinlee and baby Dylan (he will be 4 months on Oct. 7th and is almost bigger than Kinlee.)

Derk took today off so we decided to go do something fun with Kinlee. We went up to Thanksgiving Point where they have the Cornbelly's Maze going on right now. There are lots of fun activities for toddlers to do, and a cute little cow train, and a bounce house. Needless to say, we actually skipped the actual maze, because neither Derk, I or Kinlee cared to much about that part of it. There were to many other fun things going on. Afterwards, we stopped at Iceberg to get some icecream. Later on that night our good friends Rob and Emily came over with their adorable baby Dylan. Kinlee was mauling him to death. She thinks she is a mommy already.

Today Kinlee and I went to Wheeler Farm. It is free to get in, and I figured that we better go one more time before the cold weather comes. In between chasing the chickens around and looking at the "moo moo's", Kinlee was a good sport and let me get a few cute pics of her. I do not know what I am going to do this Winter with Kinlee. She constantly wants to go outside and play. I guess we will be spending lots of time at Southtowne Mall going on the Merry Go Round, and playing in Dinoland. If anyone has any fun indoor ideas or fun places to go, let me know...

A day in the life of Kinlee...

.

This happens several times a day. Must be a girl thing!

Kinlee and Cousin Parker at Parker's Soccer Game.
I wanted to give everyone some updates about Kinlee. She is going to be 20 months old on Monday. I cannot believe she is almost 2. When we took Kinlee to her 18 month appointment, she was 10% in weight and 80% in height. She may be small, but don't underestimate her! One thing is for sure, she is VERY smart. The pediatrician said at that time that she was as advanced a most two year olds. (Of course I already knew she was a smarty pants, nobody needed to tell me) Her speech is excellent. I cannot even begin to tell you all of the words she says. I could go out on a limb and say at least 80-100. She uses up to 5 word sentences (Take it off, I want to get down, I need mom, oh how cute mom) the list goes on and on. At 13 months, she knew all of her animals (by sight, she could look in a book and tell you almost any animal) as well as what each animal says. Her favorite is the elephant. She knows ALL of her body parts, (even the weird ones like elbows and armpits)! I am not trying to brag (actually I am) but when I compare Kinlee to most kids her same age, she is so much more advanced. I don't know if it is because I teach her so much or if she just picks things up so quickly. I am assuming a little of both. We are working on her ABC's. As of right now, Kinlee's alphabet only consists of 4 letters. A-B-C-D. She can even count to three!!! We are also trying to teach her colors. She likes to think that everything is "RED". She must be a Utes fan already. Kinlee has such a spunky little attitude. She wants things done her way or the highway. Kinlee loves "Donnie's" a.k.a. McDonalds. Everytime we pass one she yells out "Donnie's". As for Derk and I, same old, same old. I got a part time job at Carter's, the childrens store in Jordan Landing. I start training next week. I am so excited!!! It will be a nice chance for me to have some alone time, and also a good opportunity for Kinlee and Derk to have some daddy/daughter time without mommy.

This weekend was a little hectic. We had two weddings that we attended. The first one was my friend Jamie. She was married at a Catholic Church and then had a reception at a place called "Eddison Street/Organ Loft". It was in a shady part of town, and the place has been there for ages (says my dad), but it was such a fun time. On Saturday night, Derks good friend Bryan got married and had a reception at Willow Creek Country Club. It was pretty fancy, made my wedding look more like a BBQ. HaHa!

19 months going on 16...

.
"Beep Beep!"

We went over to our neighbors house last night to hang out for a while, and when it was time to leave we thought it would be fun to let Kinlee drive home. She was honking the horn over and over. It was hilarious! She drives like a maniac: ) Check out Derks new mustach he grew overnight. Sweet!

My sister in law Misty called me last night and asked if I wanted to go to the Zoo. You don't have to ask me twice. With summer coming to an end, I wanted to take advantage of one last nice day at the Zoo. Kinlee absolutely adores her two cousins Parker ("Dahkah") and Dawson ("Daw"). They are her two best buddies. What a fun day!

A Family Tradition...

Every year since Derk and I have been together (8 years!!!) we have gone to the fair. It was actually where we went on our first date where I got motion sickness on the ferris wheel and threw up all over in front of Derk. So year after year, it has been a tradition to go to the fairgrounds (minus the ferris wheel of course). Now that we have our little Kinlee, it makes it that much more exciting. We had a great time. We let Kinlee go on this one ride by herself (the blue car with the # 24 on it) and it was hilarious, it whipped around the corners so fast her hair was flying around. She was laughing so hard it made us laugh. It was a little crazy though. Can't wait until next year.

Em-Eye-See-Kay-Eee-Why-Em-Oh-You-Es-Eee...

This past week we went on our first family vacation with Kinlee. We flew to California with Derks parents, Derks brothers family, and our sister in law Misty's family (yes 13 in all!!!). It was Kinlee's first time on an airplane. We were a little worried that her ears would bother her, or that she would get antsy and not want to sit still, but for the most part, she was really good on the flight there and back. We had a 4 day park hopper pass to Disneyland and California Adventures so there was plenty of time to go on all of the fun rides. Kinlee's favorite was the Jungle Cruise which takes you through the jungle and you see elephants, zebras and giraffes... Derk and I loved the Tower of Terror. At one point, we were laughing so hard with our friend Jamie that I could not even breath. We also liked Indiana Jones. We actually got stuck on the ride for about 15 mintutes so they let us go twice. Not bad considering it takes hours to get on the ride if you do not have a fast pass. Some people in our group saw some famous people... To name a few: Geena Davis, Seal and Heidi Klum, John Heder (Napolean Dynamite), and Celine Dion. Not everyone was convinced it was her but Derks dad and I were sure it was. We went to Newport Beach in Orange County. It is beautiful there. The water is freezing cold and sand gets in all sorts of funky places in and on your body. It's fun for a few hours, but thats enough beach time for me. All in all, the trip was fun. I was stressed out several times with Kinlee. It's not easy traveling with a 19 month old. I would not do it again any time soon, but it was worth it to see how excited Kinlee got and how much fun she had at Disneyland.
