This week has been a little rough. Brightyn had a fever last weekend and has been refusing her bottle. I took her in to the Dr. on Wednesday thinking she may have an ear infection, but they said everything looked good. They told me her bottom gums looked swollen and teeth may be coming soon. (she still has no teeth). So needless to say, we have been dealing with a pretty fussy baby who wants to be held by MOM constantly, who is still not drinking her bottle (but luckily chowing down on everything else in sight). She hates her carseat. Lately car rides have been no fun at all. She screamed ALL the way home from Gardner Village on Saturday and cried so hard she hyperventilated herself. Hopefully some teeth come in soon so at least we can have a reason as to why she is so out of sorts lately. It seems like when Brightyn is not fussy, then Kinlee is crying, or being naughty or the other way around. There are just some days when Derk gets home and I am almost in tears because it has been on of those kinds of days... That is one reason why I love my job is because it is like a guaranteed break for me every week AWAY from kids...
Derk and I take turns getting up every other morning with Brightyn (she likes to get up at the crack of dawn 6:45) and today was supposed to be my day to get up, BUT since it was mothers day, Derk did it for me:) Thanks hun! I got a sweet Ipod Nano for mothers day. It is an 8GB so it should hold quite a few of my favorite songs:) Now I am busy loading all my favorite cd's on to it so I can jam in the car! The day started out with breakfast at our house. I invited my grandma and mom over, and my brother and his girlfriend. My sister had to work... We had a breakfast casserole, strawberries and orange juice. Pretty simple. Kinlee had fun bossing my brother around and jumping with him on the tramp.
After Brightyn's late morning nap, we drove over to the 7-11 on 6200 S. and Bangerter Hwy. We got slurpees and walked up on the bridge (Kinlee loves to do this!).
Then we met Derks family at Johnny Carinos for dinner and headed to his parents house after for some baseball, a walk and some delicioso brownies!
What a great day and perfect weather. Hope all you mommies had a wonderful day!
Horsing around with uncle Shel.
My "OMA" just turned 84 on May 2nd!
I am surprised my brother can still do this after his motorcycle accident a few years ago...
On the Bangerter Overpass
Pulling sissies hair!
We made this for Derks mom a few years back. For mothers day we updated handprints of all grandkids and added new pics! The two bottom pics are Derk and Chaz when they were little, we still need to edit those and have them printed in Sepia.

Sounds like Brigg and Brightyn are having the same issues lately! Brigg started puking while we were in Vegas and has been fussy and wanting me ever since. Apparently they got together and planned how to give us grief!
The picture of you and your girls is so cute!! We never get to see pictures of you!! he he.
I still love your hair :) and sounds like a fun alternative outing. Doing things your kids love bring smiles to your face.
Sounds like you had a great Mother's day. Somehow I ended up cooking & doing more work on Mother's day than I do any other day, oh well. I love that picture of you with your girls; priceless.
