Kinlee's First Haircit - Cookie Cutters

Kinlee had her first official haircut today. This girl was born with a head full of dark hair, then it all fell out and grew in blonde. (Derk and I were both blondies when we were her age as well). She hardly had any hair until around 8 months when I was able to put her first ponytail in. Other than at home trims to get rid of a few mullets, she has never had a real haircut. I was so exicted to take her and wanted it to be a fun experience for her. I decided to go to Cookie Cutters. They charge 13.95 but it was SO worth it. They have all kinds of fun cars/planes they can sit in, and they get to pick out a movie to watch. When they are done they get a sucker and a balloon. The girl did a great job and I think the price was worth it. If our next one is a boy he will be getting at home haircuts by mommy, but when it comes to girls hair it's much more complicated :) and well worth a splurge at the "beauty parlor".

The fruits of my labor...

So here they are... The pics of Kinlee's new big girl room. The color of the pics is kind of off, but you get the idea. We picked up her bed today and set it up, it is WAY high off the ground. We have to put a bedrail on for a little bit so she doesn't hit the deck in the middle of the night. There are still those finishing touches, but here it is! FYI we got her furniture at a store called "The Wood Connection" They make beautiful furniture that you can buy and finish yourself or have them paint/finish it for you. It was not cheap but not way expensive. You get what you pay for and we wanted something nice that was going to last her pretty much until she grows up and moves out.

So here is is! The first picture of baby McDermaid. Derk swears he saw a "penis" hahaha, but obviously it is much to soon to determine the sex of the baby. I have a feeling it is a girl only because I feel VERY much the same as when I was pregnant with Kinlee. We were pretty much right on with the due date. I thought Aug. 28th and the Dr. estimates Aug. 29th. We took Kinlee with us to the first appt. today. We want her to be involved as much as possible with everything. We have moved Kinlee into her "NEW" big girl bedroom into a full size bed. Surprisingly, she loves it. I wanted to do it sooner than later and did not want her to feel like she was being kicked out of her old room when the baby comes. I will post pics of her new room once all the pieces are together.
