Christmas and beyond...

Every year we usually go to Temple Square to see the lights, but it's always so crowded and impossible to find good parking downtown. This year we decided to head to the Zoo Lights. Most of the animals were sleeping except for the cats out partying. The lights were fun, and the kids liked it. I think we will start going there every year instead.

Kinlee's friend Reagan came over to have pizza and play one night. Can't wait for Reagans mommy to quit her job and stay home so we can play more :)

Kinlee and sissy. I love the BUMBO that my sister in law got for me.
Here is little of our Christmas fun. Kinlee was VERY onery on Christmas morning and throughout the day. I think it was a little overwhelming for her. Kinlee and Brightyn got some fun things and we can't wait to try them all out. Hope everyone had a good holiday.

Kinlee's BIG present was a two seater jeep.

Letter from good old Santa.

Little miss boo boo on Christmas morning.
Brightyn is almost bigger than Kinlee. (about 12 more pounds :)
Kinlee also got a dollhouse, playdough, paints, coloring stuff, bath foam, a puzzle, some movies and a little train trac set from Ikea.
Here is what sissy got.
My two little jeepsters. Just like their mommy. "It's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"

Derks parents got Kinlee a wiggle car (see link below to see what I am talking about) and Brightyn got a little train thing to ride on. It does the alphabet and sings and stuff. They also got many other things from grandma and grandpa. Thanks! My family got Kinlee a radio boombox/cd player, and Brightyn got this blow up penguin thing with balls in it that you punch around.

Brightyn had her first solids on Dec. 19th. She ate an ENTIRE jar of carrots and loved them. It took a few minutes for her to get used to eating off the spoon. I forgot how messy babies were! Since this, Brightyn has not been drinking her bottles to great (maybe she wants more carrots ? :) so I decided to wait another month or so and focus on formula only.

Chubba turns 4 months

Today marks the date. 4 months to be exact, that my little chubba bubba was born. She weighs 14 lbs (60%) and is 25 1/2 in. (95%) tall. Brightyn is the best sleeper at night. She usually hits the sack between 8 and 9 and will sleep until 4 or 5, get up have a bottle and then sleep until 8 or so. SO nice. During the day she is more notorious for catnapping. I am trying to get her on somewhat of a schedule and it seems to be slowly coming into place. I think kids need somewhat of a routine and plus it makes it easier for me to schedule my day if I know about when she needs to be getting her naps in :) Makes for a happier day for all. Brightyn absolutely adores Kinlee. She follows her every move and laughs at her. We even moved Kinlee's carseat next to Brightyn's so they could be closer. Brightyn will just sit and stare at Kinlee and eat her fingers. We are so lucky to have such cute and fun girls.
Here is one of her 4 month pics. To see the rest, check out my photo blog.

Derk turns the BIG 30...

You know you're turning 30 if...
-you ever had a mullet, "tail", or a side ponytail
-you have used a commodore 64
-you owned a trapper keeper
-you can name all the members of New Kids on the Block
-you remember wheb fast food burgers came in styrofoam containers
-you had a crush on Kelly Kapowski or Zack Morris from Saved By the Bell.

Derk turned the big 30 yesterday. Of course we had to celebrate. The entire McDermaid Fam came over and we had lots of fun listening to Beatles music (a family fav.) and watching our wedding video with the slide show of pics of Derk growing up. Everyone says the 30's are the best years. Lets hope so :) Happy Birthday Derk. We love you.
