Be Thankful...

My brother snapped a few impromptu pictures of us in my grandmas backyard yesterday for Thanksgiving. Let me just tell you how thankful I am to have my Jay Leno chin! I found this poem online (below) and wanted to share it with everyone. Hope you all had a good Turkey Day. By the way, can you believe the stories on the news today about all the crazy people killing and trampling over people just to save a few bucks on Black Friday? People are so crazy and out of control. That is why I stayed in this morning. I did not feel like throwing any elbows, or getting any to the ribcage :)

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes, they will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made an effort.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they will become your blessings.

BCS Bowlbound II

You thought your team was so cool,

You thought you would win,

Well we kicked your butts,

So think again,

Forty Eight to Twenty Four,

Was our winning final score,

Maybe next year you'll have better luck,

but maybe not, because BYU sucks!

The last few days of nice weather...

Kinlee and I went to Liberty Park today. She LOVED the leaves. We were throwing them all over and I was swinging her around. It was beautiful!!! We are taking advantage EVERY day this week and doing a different park each day... Yesterday was WJ Park, today was Liberty Park, and I think tomorrow I will do Copperton Park. Not sure what the rest of the week has in store, but we will make sure that whatever we do is outside!

Smells like "gadunkadunk"

Today Kinlee and I went on a little adventure to Saltair. I have not been there in YEARS! It was awesome. It smelled so bad though... Kinlee kept saying it smelled like "gadunkadunk" (something funny we taught her) and "horsie poop". If you have not ever been out there, you really need to go. We ventured out to where the old Saltair used to be. There is an old traincar and the old building with a ton of graffiti all over. It actually looks pretty cool I think. Gives it some character. The water is so low. I remember going there as a kid and the water was up to the building, now it is easily out more than half a mile or more. After that we drove over to the boatramps, and walked out to the water and carved Kinlee's name in the sand. Kinlee got mad at the end because "my shoes dirty, take em off!" So I decided it was time to go. Other than the stench (the bog of eternal stench for all you Labrynth fans!) it was gorgeous.

"A pain in the ear!"

Kinlee has been sick since about last Wednesday night/Thursday, and I have realized that she was not getting better. Usually I try to let her colds drag themselves out, and they go away on their own. Her voice is hoarse, and she has a pretty gnarly cough. The past few days she has been tugging at her earrings. I feel bad because I thought she was just messing with her earrings and I kept telling her to "stop playing with your earrings". We have had a couple of rough nights, and Kinlee is barely eating enough to keep a bird alive (and she is already teeny, she can't afford to lose weight) so I decided to take her to the doctor today and have her throat and ears checked. Come to find out she has a double ear infection (I feel horrible) and she is wheezing, so they gave her a breathing treatment. They wrote us a prescription for an antibiotic for her ear infection, and then a prescription for a steroid to help clear out her lungs... Then they want me to use this weird inhaler thing for the next 2 weeks. I can harldly wait to see how it goes. Check it out. Pretty weird. So moms, trust your instincts. If you think it may be more than just a cold, and your baby is acting out of the norm for more than a few days take them in. I am so glad I did, if I had waited, this could have been alot worse!

Now's your chance...

As you all know, I am trying to get into photography a little bit. The only problem is, I have only had the chance to photograph one family (thanks Jill and Joe). Up until now, I have just been using Kinlee, Derk, my brother and my sister. So here's the deal... I want to take some family pics of you guys! This would be a great opportunity to get FREE pics done of your family, and great to use with your Christmas cards this year. I am serious! If you want to get this done, let me know soon so we can figure out when and where. I know of a few fun places we can go : ) P.S. I know I "blog" way to much, but I have nothing more exciting to do when Kinlee is taking her daily nap.

Now she knows her ABC'c...

Sorry, I could not figure out how to flip this video, so just tilt your head to the left and enjoy! We have been really working with Kinlee on her ABC's and she finally has them down. She was crying in this video because I tried to take her little "ABC Doggie" away from her so she would sing by herself, but she started to cry so I gave it back. She still has a hard time with the L-M-N-O part, but other than that, this girl has it down. We are so proud of our little Kinlee. She just absorbs things like a sponge. She picks things up so fast. Her new thing that she says is, "What that guy/lady doin?" wherever we go. Today at the store she asked me like 5 times "what that guy doin?" about the man in front of us in line. He was laughing at Kinlee. Now are next tasks will be potty training, colors and shapes! HMMM... Any suggestions? Should be fun.

Something sexy bout' the rain...

There's something sexy bout' the rain..., well according to Kenney Chesney... (listen to our profile song : ) Not so sure I agree. Anyhow, Kinlee and I went out today for a little fun in the rain. She got a cute umbrella from her "Grandma Karin" so we thought we would test it out. Derks mom "Grandma Kathy" got her this cute green rain/peacoat. So she had the perfect ensemble for a rainy day.

Rock On!!!

Aunt Misty and Kinlee.

Rock on!
Another Halloween come and gone! Can't believe it's November now. This Halloween we dressed up like punk rockers. Well, sort of... Kinlee was a "punk rocker ballerina." I was just a punk rocker (more like punky brewster with my hair) and Derk was a butt rocker. We had a lot of running around to do and it was a busy night. My sister in law "Aunt Misty" made witches brew for the kids so we went to their house first. Then we went to my parents house and hung out for about an hour, then it was on to Derks aunts house to see the McDermaid bunch. It was fun, but next year I think we are going to stick to the witches brew at Mistys then come back and let Kinlee trick or treat in our neighborhood.
